Dr. Megan Lawhon

Dr. Megan Lawhon received her Doctor of Psychology and Master's Degree in Psychology from Marshall University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Rio Grande. She is a licensed psychologist in the states of Nebraska and Ohio, and has authorization to provide telepsychology to clients in PSYPACT-participating states.

Dr. Lawhon provides services virtually nationwide and is able to work remotely with clients located in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Dr. Lawhon’s training experiences include providing mental health care services to rural clinics in Appalachia and in the High Plains of Western Nebraska and Wyoming. These unique placements have given Dr. Lawhon a diverse training base and the ability to be flexible and resourceful in treatment approaches.

Dr. Lawhon works with individuals from adolescence into adulthood, with clinical interests in treating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and LGBTQ issues. Her approach in therapy draws from Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies. Dr. Lawhon recognizes and values the importance of connections and attachment, and incorporates the research of clinicians such as Peter Levine, Ph.D and Dan Seigel, M.D  into clinical conceptualization.
