Dina Zalami, LGPC

Dina Zalami, LGPC  provides psychotherapy services to individuals of all backgrounds who are struggling with a range of life and mental health related challenges including relationship and interpersonal difficulties, impulse control challenges including disordered eating and substance use issues, existential crises, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and culture related issues.

In her approach, she considers each individual's needs to integrate elements from different therapeutic modalities including humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, and mindfulness.

Dina is passionate about providing her clients the safe space needed to explore their concerns and develop an understanding of the root of their pain. She sees each symptom as serving a particular function and encourages clients to approach their symptoms with open curiosity and compassion in order to understand their function. In parallel to this exploratory journey, Dina works collaboratively with her clients to equip them with effective coping mechanisms/skills and to support them as they make choices that are consistent with their values and conducive to their mental health.

Having lived and worked internationally, Dina is attuned to the role of culture in each person's development and provides culturally sensitive counseling.

Dina received her master's degree in counseling and development from George Mason University, Virginia in 2011 and has worked as a psychotherapist since then.

Dina offers therapy in English, Arabic, and French.
